Departure from Marrakech: We will depart at 8:00 AM, heading towards the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka Pass. Our first stop will be for lunch near the historic Taourirt Kasbah in Ouarzazate, which highlights the region’s cultural and historical significance. Journey to Zagora: After lunch, we will continue south, crossing the Tizi n'Tnifift Pass at 1710 meters and passing through Ait Saoun Village, a former caravan route. We will reach Agdez Village, the administrative center that marks the start of the Draa Valley, where you can admire its six palm groves, including Mezguita and Fezouata, as well as the famous Tamnougalt Kasbah. Arrival in Zagora: We will travel through lunar landscapes and pre-Saharan routes until we arrive in Zagora, a small town known as the birthplace of the Saadian dynasty. We will also visit Tamgroute, renowned for its pottery craftsmanship and ancient Koranic school. Experience the Dunes: Finally, we will explore the Tinfou Dunes, giving you a taste of the Sahara Desert's beauty. We will spend our first night in Zagora. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel in Zagora.
Heading to Merzouga: After breakfast, we will depart Zagora towards the famous Erg Chebbi Dunes in Merzouga. Our journey continues along the Draa Valley, passing through Benizoli and Tazarine. Lunch Break: We will stop in Alnif, a Berber village known for trilobite fossils. After lunch, we will head to Rissani, the former capital of the Alawite Sultans, where we will visit the market and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ali Cherif. Arriving in Merzouga: After exploring Rissani, we will cross the Erg Chebbi to reach our inn at the foot of the dunes. Here, we will embark on a camel trek at sunset, lasting about two hours, before arriving at our traditional bivouac, where we will spend the night under the stars.
Sunrise over the Dunes: Wake up early to witness the stunning sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, we’ll return to our hotel for a shower before meeting our driver. Exploring Erfoud: We will leave for Erfoud, a city famous for fossils, and pass through the Tafilalt Oasis. A short break will allow us to see the ancient irrigation system before we arrive at Tinejdad. Visit Todra Gorges: In the afternoon, we will explore the breathtaking Todra Gorges. You will have free time for lunch and can stroll along the canyons, with local restaurants available in the area. Discovering Tineghir: We will visit the former Jewish district in Tineghir before heading to Dades Valley. Ait Benhaddou: Our next stop will be the fortified village of Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site that has served as a backdrop for many films. You will have free time for lunch at a local restaurant overlooking the kasbah, followed by a walk to the top of the hill for stunning views of the village. Return to Marrakech: In the afternoon, we will head back to Marrakech, concluding your incredible 4-day desert tour from Marrakech to Zagora, Merzouga, and Dades Gorges.
