Erg Chigaga Tour from Marrakech 3-Day Desert

After breakfast, we set off towards the nomadic village of M’hamid El Ghizlane. On our way, we will stop at Tamegroute, famous for its traditional pottery. Here, you can watch skilled artisans at work and visit the Koranic library and medersa adjacent to the pottery workshop. Arriving in M’hamid, you will have time to enjoy lunch and perhaps take a dip in the hotel pool to cool off before heading into the desert. In the afternoon, we embark on an off-road adventure, travelling deeper into the Sahara. After 1.5 to 2 hours of traversing diverse desert landscapes, we reach our desert camp located among the impressive Erg Chigaga dunes. At the camp, a thrilling camel ride awaits. You’ll have the chance to ride through the soft sands and try your hand at sandboarding on the towering dunes, which rise to 300 meters. Experience the breathtaking sunset from atop the dunes as the sky transforms into a canvas of colours. As night falls, savour a sumptuous three-course dinner served in the camp's restaurant tent. Later, gather around the campfire to listen to traditional music performed by local nomads under a starlit sky. For those who wish, you can choose to sleep in a nomadic tent or under the stars, surrounded by the peaceful sounds of the desert.

After breakfast at the camp, we begin our journey back to Marrakech. Setting out around 8 AM, we head off-road across the arid landscape towards Lake Iriki, a dried-up lake that showcases the desert's stark beauty. We will follow the historic route of the Paris-Dakar Rally, a true off-road experience. After about three hours of off-roading, we reach Foum Zguid, where we will take a break for refreshments. We also stop at Taznakht, known as the carpet capital of Morocco, where you can admire the craftsmanship of traditional Berber carpets and enjoy lunch. As we make our way back to Marrakech, expect to arrive in the late afternoon, completing this extraordinary desert adventure filled with cultural richness and breathtaking landscapes.
