Itinerary
Your adventure begins with a pickup from your hotel in Marrakech at 7 AM. Departing the city, you’ll traverse the stunning Atlas Mountains via the Tichka Pass (2260 m), where breathtaking landscapes greet you. The journey leads to Ouarzazate, known as the "Hollywood of Africa," where iconic films such as Alexander the Great and The Mummy were shot. Next, visit the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site, renowned for its stunning fortress architecture. After exploring this picturesque site, enjoy lunch in Ait Benhaddou before continuing to Ouarzazate. From there, head towards the Valley of Roses, famous for its annual rose harvest festival in May. You’ll spend the night in the Dades Valley, where you’ll enjoy dinner in a charming auberge featuring traditional Berber architecture and scenic views of the mountains.
After a hearty breakfast, set off toward the Todra Gorges, a haven for rock climbers. Enjoy a leisurely walk through the gorge, marvelling at the impressive cliffs and vibrant surroundings. Continuing your journey, follow the ancient Bedouin trading routes alongside the Middle Atlas, passing through fortified villages showcasing remarkable pre-Saharan architecture. Leave your vehicle behind and embark on a 90-minute camel ride into the desert. Arrive at your Luxury Merzouga desert camp, where you can admire the stunning sunset over the dunes. Spend the night in a traditional Bedouin tent, enjoying a delicious dinner followed by an enchanting evening around the campfire, complete with Berber music and drumming.
Awaken early to witness the breathtaking sunrise over the dunes. After enjoying a delicious breakfast, ride your camels back to the auberge. Begin your journey back to Marrakech, with several stops along the way to take in the stunning views and enjoy lunch.
